The first step in the graphic design process is a simple meeting. This can be at our office or yours, over the phone or internet, at a café or on a park bench if that works best for you. We'll conduct a short interview to gather vital information, and review your design brief if you've prepared one. (No worries if you haven't!) This interview is designed to help you find your voice by thinking about your business in ways you may not have before, and to give us a foundation on which to build your brand.
Next...Next we learn all we can about your industry, including what the important topics are, what customers look for, and what your competition is doing. We find out what works and what doesn't. We'll rely on you for your expert insight, and we'll try to supplement your knowledge with visual inspiration and design trends from your local area and beyond. This information helps ensure the design will effectively communicate your message to your audience.
Next...This is where graphic design begins. We'll formulate some fresh ideas and create a selection of drafts. We'll work within your guidelines, but also offer additional perspective you may not have considered. We'll try varieties of color, typography and attitude. Sometimes we have a winner right away, and sometimes there are some rounds of correspondence as we work toward the right design and style for your brand.
Next...Once a path is chosen, we develop and fine tune the graphic design. This process is often fluid with unexpected twists and turns, because as we progress, new ideas tend to arise. You'll find that the project can take on a life of its own, evolving with each revision. Throughout the design process we'll provide professional insight and advice, while staying true to your original concept; but as ideas are brought to life, it's not unusual to end up with a design that's quite different from what you might have originally envisioned.
